The new Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5+ (TSS 2.5+) upgrades the existing features of the TSS 2.0 system. This suite of safety features is designed to be more intuitive, responding immediately to prevent dangers. TSS 2.5+ Brings New Updates for Safety
Each year, Toyota continues to outdo itself in safety technology. Recently, the TSS 2.0 system made its debut, with two new applications. The TSS 2.5+ suite introduces a new Rear Seat Reminder feature for 2021. This app will remind you if the rear door is open within 10 minutes of turning on the engine. Other standard TSS 2.0 and 2.5+ features include:
- Road Sign Assist (RSA)
- Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
- Automatic High Beams (AHB)
- Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist (LDAA w/ SA)
- Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
The TSS 2.5+ upgrades a few existing TSS 2.0 features for the new year. The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) can now be reset even when the vehicle slows to 0 mph. The DRCC may first be activated at 30 mph. This application will adjust your speed to keep even pace with cars in front. The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD) also got an upgrade for 2021. The upgraded PCS w/ PD can detect multiple collision hazards, keeping you safe in bustling city traffic. It can also now detect pedestrians in low-light conditions to ease nighttime driving when needed.
