The California Clean Fuel Reward is available for all vehicles with a battery capacity greater than 5 kWh. Both of our PHEVs offer a high-voltage lithium-ion battery generating almost 10 kilowatts per hour. The Prius Prime can travel up to 55 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway in hybrid mode. As a PHEV, you can switch to the electric-only mode for up to 25 miles. The RAV4 Prime travels up to 40 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway in hybrid mode. In electric-only mode, this crossover travels up to 42 miles to the charge. Both come with a 3.3-kilowatt on-board charger and an available 6.6 KW cable for fast charging.
With a plug-in hybrid or electric car, you can also save big on state and federal tax incentives. The California Clean Vercuil Rebate Project (CVRP) provides up to $7,000 in rebates. You also enjoy up to $7,500 in federal tax breaks for driving an eco-friendly, light-duty vehicle. These offers will extend to the Toyota bZ4x, the first battery-electric vehicle (BEV) from Toyota. The all-new bZ4X will make its grand debut later and go on sale in 2022.
